Rovinj, Croatia

Rovinj is a Croatian fishing port on the west coast of the Istrian peninsula. It is one of the most beautiful towns in Croatia situated on a headland, with houses tightly crowded down to the seafront. It’s rich history and architecture dates from Venetian and Illyrian tribes, followed by the Romans and Byzantine Empire.

Rovinj’s natural sights have been described as "outstanding scenic wonders" because of the pristine beauty of the indented coastline and its forests. This area has a very rugged archipelago consisting of 14 islands and 6 cliffs.

The conformation of the beaches of Rovinj is typical of the coasts of the northern Adriatic. Rocky headlands and coves with sand and pebbles alternate along the 67 km of the coast of Rovinj.

Accommodations

We will take you on a new adventure every night. From oyster tasting in Lim Bay to Michelin recommended restaurant and olive oil tasting on a remote vineyard; every dinner will be unique.

Sightseeing

Pula Amphitheatre is the most famous and important monument, which was once the site of gladiator fights. It was built in the 1st century AD during the reign of Emperor Vespasian, at the same time as the magnificent Colosseum in Rome. Today, it is the venue for many different events like the Pula Film Festival, concerts, opera, ballet and sports competitions.

Motovun is a medieval town in central Istria. It is situated on a hill 270 metres (886 feet) above sea level with houses scattered all over the hill. Since 1999, Motovun has hosted the international Motovun Film Festival for independent and avant-garde films from the U.S. and Europe.

Groznjan is a small town in central Istria surrounded by terraced olive groves and vineyards with closely built houses and a castle as a clear testimonial to its Medieval past. Groznjan offers a view of twenty or so surrounding Istrian villages, the valley of the river Mirna and the sea from Novigrad to Umag. During summer, Groznjan lives and breathes music.
